Sobering Good Byes….
Time being as tight as it was, I was peppered with calls, “let’s get together before you leave”… it always sounds great in theory, so to avoid making time for one friend and not another I worked my magic and just called a “meeting of the minds”. Otherwise known as Happy Hour!

Travel Headache Free- (yes, leaving your spouse at home is always an option too..)
These sounds so basic, yet emotionally people have a hard time letting go of their comfort zones-trust me it works! Try it!
- Travel Light- if you forget your favorite T-shirt, get over it! Buy a new one for 1/3rd of the price. You will see I have a few bags here (out of the norm), yet don’t be deceived, the majority of the contents are culinary related items that are required to be checked through.
- *Thinking ahead- I will soon fill the empty suitcase (the size of a small circus clown) with newly purchased goods. And little does the world know the first person that comes to visit will be taking it back home for me! Transitioning me into a lighter load and simply creating what I like to call “baggage freedom”. This allows easy nomadic travel- always been my style. Be honest “Who wants to deal with baggage?” (NOTE: International flights you are allowed 2 checked bags FREE)
- ONLY take what you need! –traveling is not a fashion show ladies, take the basics, hard to believe the rest of the world wears deodorant, uses shampoo, likes shoes, shirts, etc. Always just pick up the basics once you arrive- beyond travel size!
***This morning I flew through security with a lap top, big back pack (start to finish 8 minutes, beat that George Clooney) …travel reference from the movie UP IN THE AIR.

上海以1 - 世博會
(Shanghai take 1 –World Expo)
In a rush, no time to think- with only 7 days to fully pack, secure my house, tickets, procure a visa from the Chinese consulate (no easy task, yet anything possible when money comes across someone’s desk!), and mentally prepare for the World Expo- That’s an insane amount to do, but at the end of the day like any chef worth a grain of salt (no pun intended…) you just MAKE IT HAPPEN!
I suppose I should briefly back pedal here… Why Shanghai you ask? Is this another crazy travel journey the world can read about on the blog?
Simply put NO.
